Waiakea High Athletic restart on Monday 9/27

 

On 9-27-2021 Waiakea High athletics will restart Fall sports

 

The following requirements are in effect in order to participate in athletics (DOE Requirements)

1. A completed DOE athletic physical form signed by an MD and dated within the last 12 months

2. Risk Form and concussion form signed by parent and student

3. A copy of a CDC vaccination card (dated at least 15 days post vaccination completion)

  * If student receives an accommodation for Vaccine requirement the following is required instead of #3 (submitted and approved religous and/or medical forms)

     1. A copy of  Negative Covid test results from an accredited lab (PCR test) from a test within the last 96 hrs

     2.  Student will continue to test every 4 days and submit negative results in order to continue participation.

* Student athletes may face consequences (loss of playing time) for missed practice time due to testing and or failure to submit the adequate test results

RELIGIOUS AND MEDICAL EXEMPTION FORMS AND SUBMISSION PROCEDURES ARE ALSO POSTED ON THE WHS WEBSITE-ATHLETICS TAB

 

The following sports will start on Monday 9/27

Girls Volleyball  2:30pm at WHS Gym 

       -mask required at all times

       - bring your own water/hydration

      * due to the large turnout and team cuts late tryouts will not be considered

Football  3:30 at the football field

     -mask required for a portion of practice

      - bring your own water/hydration

Cross Country 4:15 pm at WHS PE Locker room

      -mask required for a portion of practice

      - bring your own water/hydration

Cheer 

       -mask required for a portion of practice

      - bring your own water/hydration

Air Rifle 6:15 pm at WHS gym

        -mask required at all times

      - bring your own water/hydration

   9/27/21 8pm deadline for tryout sign up and form submission

Waiakea High School Air Riflery Tryouts 9/27/21

Any WHS student interested in trying out for the Air Riflery team must email Kristen.Miyazono@k12.hi.us in order to obtain important information about participation requirements and tryout schedules.  Only those students whose emails and forms are received by 8:00 p.m. on 9/27/21 will be allowed to attend tryouts.  

 * If you made email contact earlier and have not submitted all the required forms you should make email contact with the coaching staff

 

As a reminder the following is required to participate

1. DOE Athletic physical exam form (signed by doctor), a parent consent form, and a concussion form must be signed by parents and athlete and submitted to the athletic trainer 

 

2.Copy of vaccination card (dated at least 15 days post completed vaccination) Turned in to the coach prior to participation

 

THE ABOVE 2 REQUIREMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE COACHING STAFF BY 8PM ON 9/27.  IF YOU FAIL TO MEET THIS DEADLINE YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRY OUT.

Waiakea High School athletics is announcing the following head coach vacancies:

 

Boys and Girls Air Rifle (Application due date 7/15)

VarsityBoys and Girls Wrestling  (Application due date 8/15)

Girls Varsity Water Polo  (Application due date 9/15)

 

Individuals who have questions and/or are interested in applying for the position may get information and applications through the following methods

    Legal Guardians: 

    To help ensure the child's eligibility, do not turn in forms to our Main Office or Athletic Director's office.  

    You must hand the physical papers, which include the physical form, the consent form and the concussion form, to their child.  Have the child walk to the Athletic Training Room after school and hand all the forms to an athletic trainer.  If the forms are incomplete, the forms will be returned to the child for completion.  The child will not be able to participate until all forms are completed and stored in the athletic training room
